As you will no doubt have heard, the results were declared at around 4am this morning for Tamworth.
Our candidate unfortunately missed out this time and Labour held the seat - same as last time though, not by a resounding result for Labour by any stretch, which shows a split electorate in Tamworth.

Eddie Hughes for Tamworth and the villages - you put in a lot of effort, time and really went out of your way to understand the constituency and the people. I think you should have won, Iโm gutted for you. I wish you the absolute best in what you decide to do next outside of Parliament.
Sarah for Tamworth - the electorate have made their decision and you continue to be our MP. As a Conservative thatโs obviously not the result I wanted, but that doesnโt mean Iโm against you. This is our town and I therefore want you as the MP to do well, for us. Congratulations on your reappointment and good luck.
To the electorate of Tamworth - thank you for turning out and voting
To the Conservative Party - take the time to choose a new leader. A leader who has the desire and skills to take the party back to being a competent, compassionate party that creates the economic environment to lift people up from the bottom and creates wealth through success. A party with policies that protect traditional family values and conserves what people have achieved through reduced state intervention and taxes. Get back to pure conservatism.
