We had our Full Council meeting tonight at the Town Hall.
The Leader presented the selection of the Chief Executive recruited for Tamworth Borough Council, which was ratified unanimously by all Councillors. The new CEO will be a fantastic addition to the Council and for our Town.
The Leader also announced his decision to stand down as Leader of the Conservative Group and of the Council. It was a very tough decision and he should leave with his head held high after working hard for our Town over the last 6 months. To use his own words โhe put a shift in for Tamworthโ. It has been a pleasure to work alongside him.
As the current Deputy Leader I now step up as interim Leader of the Council until a replacement is chosen and voted on as soon as possible.
