On Monday night we held the AGM of our Local Tamworth Conservatives Councillors Group.
This is an annual meeting where the group of elected Conservative Councillors elect the Leader and Deputy Leader of the group for the coming year.
I’m pleased to announce that I was re-elected as Leader of the Conservative group.
I’d also like to congratulate Cllr Jeremy Oates for winning the election for Deputy Leader.
As the largest opposition group on the council, we will now become the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Opposition at next week’s Full Council meeting.
I’d also like to thank Cllr Samuel Smith for his hard work as Deputy Leader over the last 5 months.
I’m now looking forward to the challenge ahead as we enter into opposition.
