I’m pleased to be able to say that the vast majority of my peers voted for me this evening to officially become Leader of Tamworth Borough Council.
I do not take this position lightly.
I do not underestimate the challenges this role will bring and the effort required, but I am ready.
It is an honour to be able to Lead the Council and to head up positive changes for our Town.
Despite now living literally just outside since last year with my wife and two daughters, I’m a third-generation ‘Tammie’ who grew up on Glascote Heath, went to local schools and now has his own children in Tamworth schools. I use all of the same services and know Tamworth inside out. I feel honoured to now be able to do my little bit to shape Tamworth’s future.
My plan as Leader can be described in simple terms, in a nutshell, as being one that brings people together, taps into existing talent and experience, and which focuses on Tamworth Conservatives delivery for Tamworth and its residents.
