Someone asked me about this post from a Facebook group……it is categorically untrue. 
The Council look at things for Tamworth. The Government look at refugees, NOT the Council.
We have publicly announced already that plans are being considered over the long term future of the Marmion House building, that’s not a secret, but accomodation for refugees is 100% NOT on the cards as a possible use.
Someone mentioned “it should be a shelter for all of the homeless people in Tamworth” - another bit of fake news I’m afraid. Tamworth does not have a homelessness problem whatsoever. There are a couple who refuse help, that is all.
