Amington Labour Councillor resigns
He knew at the time of being elected that his new day job role precluded him from being a Councillor, as did his leaders, yet it has been dragged out for months.
He was ‘hidden’ by being added to committees that hardly meet and he did nothing for Amington or the Council in the meantime.
There will now be a by-election in Amington. A waste of the electorate’s time, as they already voted in May, and a cost of thousands to all taxpayers of Tamworth!
Our Tamworth Conservatives candidate only lost by a tiny number of votes. A candidate who was ready to serve the whole term for the Ward.
Let’s hope the residents of Amington show their frustration with Labour by voting for a committed Conservative Councillor. A Conservative Councillor who will be able to support the new direction of our group and the delivery of the fantastic things we’re working on for Tamworth.
